| Days 6–7 | Gondar + Simien Mountains: Fasil Ghebbi castles. Gelada baboon day hike |
| Days 8–10 | Eritrea: Fly Addis to Asmara. Fiat Tagliero building, Art Deco walking tour, Cinema Roma. Keren camel market (Mondays). Massawa Ottoman island and Italian architecture |
| Days 11–12 | Dahlak Islands: Boat from Massawa to the archipelago. Red Sea snorkelling, camping or basic lodge |
| Days 13–14 | Fly Asmara to Djibouti: Lake Assal salt crust and Lac Abbé chimneys |
| Day 15 | Djibouti whale sharks (seasonal) + Tadjourah ferry |
| Days 16–17 | Fly Djibouti to Hargeisa (Somaliland): Camel market, national museum, Laas Geel |

Practical Notes
- Eritrea visa: Government-issued, must be arranged in advance through Anbessa Travel. Allow 3–4 weeks processing.
- Eritrea currency: Nakfa (ERN). Only Nakfa accepted — exchange at bank on arrival. No card payments.
- Dahlak Islands: Basic camping or the ITC-owned Dahlak Resort. Bring all supplies from Massawa.
- This itinerary involves 5 international and regional flights — book all segments in advance through Africa Milestone.
