- Visa logistics: Ethiopian eVisa online (evisa.gov.et). Somaliland visa on arrival at Hargeisa airport ($30). Djibouti eVisa online (evisa.gouv.dj).
- Flights: Ethiopian Airlines connects all four cities. Addis Ababa–Hargeisa (1hr), Hargeisa–Djibouti (45min) via Ethiopian or Africa Star.
- Best time: October–March. Avoid June–August (Ethiopian highland rains; Djibouti extreme heat 45°C+).
- Currency: Ethiopian Birr, Somaliland Shilling (USD accepted), Djibouti Franc (USD widely accepted).
