| Day 3 | Djibouti: Whale shark experience + Gulf of Tadjoura boat crossing |
| Days 4–5 | Fly Djibouti to Asmara (Eritrea): Art Deco walking tour. Continue to Massawa overnight |
| Day 6 | Dahlak Islands: Boat from Massawa. Red Sea snorkelling/diving, frequent dolphin sightings. Camp or basic lodge |
| Day 7 | Fly or ferry Asmara/Massawa to Nairobi or Zanzibar |
| Days 8–9 | Diani Beach (Kenya) or Zanzibar south coast: Relaxation, reef snorkelling, sunset dhow cruise |
| Days 10–11 | Watamu Marine Park (Kenya) or Zanzibar north coast (Nungwi): Diving and snorkelling |
| Day 12 | Final beach day. International departure from Mombasa or Zanzibar |
Practical Notes
- Whale shark season: November to January (Djibouti). If travelling outside this window, Arta Beach snorkelling and Lac Abbé replace the whale shark day.
- Eritrea entry: Visa must be pre-arranged (3–4 weeks). Anbessa Travel handles this.
- Diving certification: Bring PADI/SSI card for Dahlak. Equipment hire available in Massawa..
