| Days 6–7 | Bwindi Impenetrable Forest: Gorilla trekking briefing at dawn. Trek 30 min–8 hrs. One hour with a habituated gorilla family |
| Day 8 | Cross border at Katuna into Rwanda. Drive to Musanze (Ruhengeri). Gorilla permit briefing |
| Day 9 | Volcanoes NP gorilla trek: Shorter treks on average. Different gorilla families. Optional Dian Fossey grave visit |

Practical Notes
- Gorilla permits: Uganda $800/person (Uganda Wildlife Authority). Rwanda $1,500/person (Rwanda Development Board). Book 3–6 months in advance — non-refundable within 30 days.
- What to wear for gorilla trek: Long trousers, long sleeves, waterproof boots, garden gloves. Altitude: 2,200–2,800m — cold mornings.
- Children: Minimum age 15 for gorilla trekking in both countries.
- Currency: Ugandan Shilling (UGX) and Rwandan Franc (RWF). USD widely accepted.
